Melanie originally trained (2018) and was certified (2020) with DONA International .  She provides pre and postnatal care that is focused on education, collaboration, and advocacy.

​Earth Mama Doula Services organically developed from a passion for birth, transformation, and empowerment.   As a birth doula, I am trained to provide physical, emotional, and informational support, with the end goal being to achieve not only the healthiest but also the most satisfying birth experience possible.  I was raised in the Central Valley, spent 10 years growing in San Diego, and am now based in San Jose, CA, where my husband was born and raised.  I am incredibly proud to have the opportunity to support growing families, both local and in surrounding areas - including but not limited to - south to Morgan Hill, east to San Leandro, and north to Redwood City. I would be honored to collaborate with you and the rest of your birth team during this special time in your life.

• There is great peace in knowing that we can ultimately trust birth.  I view birth as a family celebration and I can't wait to celebrate with you on your journey towards motherhood.  My desire is that you look back on your experience with nothing but fond memories from beginning to end.  Sometimes just a calm presence is all that is needed, and other times we require loving words or a gentle touch. Whatever it is, I will be by your side to ensure that your needs are met.

• Mothering the mother is my top priority.  After all, birth doesn't just make babies, it makes mothers too!  While our bodies are designed to do this incredible thing called birth, feeling heard, loved, and supported while we do it is crucial.   Creating unique new bonds with each sweet family is one of my favorite things about being a doula!

• I believe every mama has the right to feel fully informed and respected.  Knowledge is power!  And I look forward to providing you with tools so you can make informed decision. By trusting in your body's own ability you can do hard, yet amazing things!
